Kids Dance Camp
Students spend the day sinking into their identities as dynamic dance makers, and building community with their new dance friends. Everyone is welcome, whether you are new to dance or have had years of training.
This camp is designed to challenge and support everyone. We work collaboratively to explore dance concepts from many different styles of dance. We investigate how these concepts can be used to understand and advocate for social justice issues. We approach the learning, dance making, and performing with joy and gratitude.
This year’s theme is Water! 💦 We will embody the different qualities of water, explore the water cycle, and address water equity and advocacy. On the last day of camp, an informal show will be offered.
Rhythm of the Day:
Learning a variety of dance techniques
Solo and group choreography
Nature walks and outdoor improvisations
Lunch at the park
Relaxation and meditation techniques
Art project
* Campers must bring their own lunch and snack and reusable water bottle.
